Youth Ministries

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2

The mission of Ebenezer’s youth ministry is to engage, equip, and encourage youth toward a lifetime of following Jesus. We do this by partnering with parents (whom God designed to bear the primary responsibility of their children’s discipleship; Deut. 6:6-9; Eph. 6:1-4) and living in community built around God’s means of grace (Heb. 10:24-25; Acts 2:42-47).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you’re visiting any of our meetings, you don’t need to worry about being brought up front or becoming the center of attention. We don’t want you to be uncomfortable! Our youth and leaders will say hello and you’re welcome to engage in games or discussion however much you like.

Typically we might have around 30 youth on any given night, but that can vary up or down. Hopefully if you visit you might even make a few new friends. We’d love to have you!

  • A typical youth group involves: snacks, singing, teaching and games at the end. The singing is one of my (Adam, the youth director) favorite parts! In the spring of 2021 we taught through James and over the summer we studied different Psalms.

  • *This fall (2021), we will be joining as a whole church body on Wednesday nights for dinner (bring your own; 5:45-6:15 p.m.) and worship through music (6:15-6:30 p.m.), followed by our normal small groups (6:30-7:15 p.m.)*

People can connect more deeply with one another through small groups. We have 4 small groups during the school year:
    - Middle School Girls                              - High School Girls

    - Middle School Guys                             - High School Guys

Each is led several adult youth leaders and will either study the Bible, a book, or topic.

At the end of the evening (7:15 p.m.) we usually head back to the gym to fellowship and play games while parents chat. Every so often a small group will also do a fun activity together, like get ice cream, dinner or hang out and play games together. It’s pretty cool.

  • Some of both! Small groups, camps, and retreats (usually) are separate, but everyone joins together for youth group on Sunday nights.

Why? Because we recognize two things:

         1) There is a maturity difference between a 6th grader and a high school senior.

         2) That said, there is also is great benefit to younger students observing and learning from spiritually mature older ones in           the appropriate setting.

We believe this balanced approach lends itself well to both age-appropriate teaching and discipleship opportunities.
